About me

My name is Michelle. I have been passionate about languages for as long as I can remember. As a child, I always dreamt of learning Italian and moving to Italy. Instead, I studied Spanish and moved to Chile in 2012. In Chile I started teaching Dutch to Chileans who wanted to move to the Netherlands for various reasons. In addition to teaching them the language, I also helped them understand Dutch culture and prepared them for Basisexamen Inburgering (Civic Integration Exam Abroad). I loved it so much, that I started my own language school in Santiago, teaching both Dutch and English.

Besides meeting so many interesting people, I also learned something very important. I realized that learning a new language is so much more than just words and grammar. To truly understand a language, you need to understand its culture. When you speak a new language, you open a door to a new way of thinking and seeing things. It creates so many new opportunities.

When I moved back to the Netherlands in 2017, I continued teaching and I have been doing so for over 10 years now.

My classes are interactive and fun with the main focus on conversation. From the very first lesson, you'll start speaking Dutch, building the confidence you need to use the language in everyday life.

"Michelle's approach made even the challenging parts of learning Dutch feel enjoyable."
